Gory Game 9 (Fallout series)

The fallout series is a couple of games, based on post-nuclear war. One of the series games I would like to bring up is Fallout 3. The game was released fall 2008. It is known for its great campaign, but can can be violent. One source, they talk about a picture that was leaked of the game. The picture is of a zombie from the post-nuclear war, getting his head shot and being blown to pieces. The sight of seeing that happen to a zombie that looks like a human, is innapropriate.
Another source I found agreed with he gore in the game. One thing a man posted was, "The only reason people should have a problem with it is the fact it has OVER THE TOP GORE...You can literally explode someone with a punch. A punch!" They made it so that in the game you can explode an enemy with a punch? Another man wrote a comment too, saying that, "Fallout 3 is brutal, violent, can be very depressing and quite disturbing." If a game is that violent and evil that it's depressing, than something is wrong with that game. If someone knows the gore is over the top like the one quote a man wrote, and that it's depressing why would one play it? That is why this game is probably recommended not to be played.

Gory Game 8 (Dead Rising)

Dead Rising was realeased August 8, 2006. The game's main character is a man (you) who goes to this town area, where he has heard weird things have been happening. He is a reporter and when he goes, he sees "zombies" attacking other alive humans. He is shocked, and at a point in the game, you are stuck at a mall, which is the whole rest of the game.
The game is seen violent through this article, "though not showing decapitations or dismemberment, is nonetheless continuous and dramatic. Shooting, or hitting zombies with any of the game’s weapons (which range from baseball bats and guns, to shopping carts with pitchforks strapped to them) results in a copious amount of blood that sprays from the wound, and often pools on the ground." But you can also get garden tools and knifes and cut limbs off of the zombies, so there's a lot of blood involved. The amount of "people" you kill in the game is numerous, and each time you kill them, there is a huge spurt of blood that comes out of them, making it a pretty graphic game. Another source states that in Germany, their software rating organization, would not approve of this game, basically "banning" the game from Germany. For any game that is banned, then it has to be pretty bad. Both the factors that it was banned in a country, and how the game's gore is literally pouring out of a zombie each second, concludes that this game should probably not be played.

Gory Game 7 (Thrill Kill)

Thrill Kill, was not named because of its nice appearance. The game was for Playstation and was made in 1998. The game is about these psychotic killers who have been "sent to Hell." They have a chance to be returned back to life, if they fight each other. I don't know much about this game, i just recently heard about it. But after reading articles and seeing that on this site (GameFaqs), that it is #1 most violent game, I am already almost convinced that this game should not even be played.
The site mentioned earlier talks about the types of things you can do in the game. You "leave the victim but a red smear on the ground, shoving cowprods inside people's throats, brutal dismemberment, mutilation of the body and various other horrible fates that may make you scream just watching them." Cowprods down a person's thoat? Im pretty sure that that is a violent video game. One controls the character in the video game, and if you choose to put a cowproder down someones throat, that is scary. I could not play this game, even if I had money and it was in front of me, i don't know how i could buy that. Playing a video game like that is scary and almost weird in a sense. What if my family saw me playing that? It would be weird. The violence described in this video game is horrific. Also from the site, the game was "originally rated AO, [it] was ultimately cancelled and released on the internet. That alone is proof enough that the content in this game is serious business." Because of the violence described in the game and my decision to never even touch this game, it's pretty clear that this game is extremely gory. Even this site talks about Thrill Kills gory gameplay. The article reads, "The game is notable for it's relatively high level of controversial content." For them to have so many controversies about this game, and then was put out on the internet instead of a playstation game really shows how gory this game is. With all that gore, this game is also recommended unplayable.

Gory Game 6 (Mortal Kombat: Deception)

Mortal Kombat, has been known for its arcade type games that have been around since the 80's. But recently a new Mortal Kombat was made and might be very violent for young players. This game was released October 4, 2004. It was rated M, because of what you can do to the other player you are fighting. The game was played with one of the characters on the left side, of a 2-d like battlefield facing vertically, and the other player, either AI or a friend playing with you, on the right side. Each player has a number of health points and your goal is to bring down the opponents health before you. You can use a number of attacks with a lot of button combos. You can also defend from other attacks by your opponent. But there is one last thing, if you bring the other opponent to the edge of the battlefield, which is like a square, there can be sorts of mechanisms and nature that can 1-hit KO your opponent; they are called "death traps."
On one of the maps, if you knock the opponent on the edge into a death trap, they get squished by a mechanical press with spikes in it and that were heated. When squished, theres a visual of blood coming out the sides and when the press opens again, you see the body parts and blood all on the inside. The fact that seeing the body parts, which we all know is a very graphic and violent image, and knowing what just happened to that person, makes the game a very violent game. If that's not all, every character that you can choose in the game, has special finishing moves, called fatality moves. These "fatality moves" are used when the opponent has no health left and the announcer goes "finish him/her." When you use the fatality move, it ranges up to your character freezing the character then smashing each and every body part of the enemy, so that just their head is left, then smashing the head when the other body parts are "destroyed."It can also be, your character, ripping the enemies head off, pulling their head and their whole spine with it, creating graphic images. Seeing those kinds of images is terrible for one to see. The game should probably be rated higher than 17+ (M). Even adults shouldn't even view this. The fatality moves and the death traps, all are examples leading up to one main point, that this game is way to violent, even for older players.

Gory Game 5 (God of War 3)

From the title of the game, you would'nt think it's a game about fairies now would you? The release date for this game was March 16, 2010. The game is rated M; I think we know why. Each game leading up to the third one, has gotten more and more violent for each one. In the game, you play as Kratos, who's main goal is to kill Zeus and all the other Olympian gods.
In the game, one of the things you get to do, is when, "Kratos rips off the head of Helios." The scene shows Kratos, taking the head off of the olympian god Helios, which is shown in a very graphic way. This shows that it is a violent game. The character that you are playing has to "rip" the head off of his enemy? The fact that, in todays society, violence is allowed but at a certain level. Seeing a character, that you are controlling, ripping of the head of another character in the game, with a lot of blood and gore involved in the visual, is definatly higher than today's violence level that is allowed. This concludes that the game is violent and probably shouldn't be played too much.
But to others, the game is considered to not be violent. On this site, one argues that because the game is humorous, you laugh, so when the violence happens, your laughing about it, not even minding how bad the violence actually is, making the game "not violent." Just because one is laughing when playing it, doesn't change the level of violence in the game, in my opinion. Even though while you are playing it, you might not notice the violence, the game is still violent, and shouldn't be played too much, or even, at all.

Gory Game 4 (Gears of War)

Gears of War, released November 7th, 2006, is a third person shooter. It sold over 3 million copies in just a little less than ten weeks (More information on this site). The story line is really good. But as you can see by the title, it is a very gory game. It is a shooter game so you are shooting at enemy aliens, called "Locusts." They look like men but with pale skin and almost look like they have some sort of skin disease. They are also very muscular. The game focuses on killing the enemies in a gory way. Like one of the guns in the game is attached with a chainsaw, allowing one to "chainsaw" the enemy in half.

The games violence level is bad. As I explained earlier, you "can use a chainsaw to rip apart enemies or machine guns to spray them down. A deadly laser strike can level buildings. Characters and world are photorealistic, making bloody battles seem even gorier" (take from this site). But also, there is a sniper in the game and, if shot correctly at the enemies head, then their head explodes (yuck). Along with another weapon, that if shot into the enemy, explodes a couple seconds after impact, which means it "blows bodies up from the inside out." All these ways to kill the locust just makes the game almost disturbing to play from the gore level, making it a topic that is sometimes talked about on its gore levels. The battles in the game against the Locust and the Humans, are too violent and the weapons that are used in it, like the "sniper," don't help the level of violence either. These factors both add up to making this game a recommended  "no-play" game.

Gory Game 3 (Ninja Gaiden 2)

I like Ninja Gaiden 2, but i'm honestly saying, it is a really gory game. It was released June 3, 2008. It is an action-adventure game. The games main character is Ryu Hayabusa. You are a member of the "Dragon Lineage." In the game you have to stop these hell like monsters called the "greater fiends" from resureccting a terrible beast that could destroy the earth. The game play is really fun. Throughout the game you unlock a bunch of weapons you can use like a scythe (in picture down below), nun chucks, shuriken, and things called Vigoorian flails. The game also exibits a lot of violence though.
In the game, when you are fighting things, every time you hit them, a bunch of blood comes out. When one of the enemies limbs is cut off or they are close to dying, you can use what called the "obliteration technique" by pressing Y. When you do this, you don't know what happens when you do it, "but we can only assume that Ryu starts totally flipping out and killing people in some stylish fashion. The techniques vary based on what weapon you're using and what body part you just removed." When he goes in his "flipping out stage" there are limbs flying everywhere and the enemies get "obliterated." The gore that happens during this stage, is pretty bad. The game is still good though, and to add to that they also give you the option in the menu to lower the gore in the game, by moving a bar on a meter. The only problem is, most people don't know that's there. To see some of the graphics and effects in the game itself, watch this video if you would like. To look out for the "obliteration techniques," it is when you see the camera move closer to Ryu and his target and he does something to kill them instantly (usually a very gory couple of seconds). The gore in this game, from the obliteration techniques and also from the type of attacks used by which weapon you yield, is so high that this game is recommended unplayable.

Another Gory Game? (Alien vs Predator)

There are so many video games out there, and yet there is another violent one that also shouldn't be on the market. Alien vs. Predator the game, rated M, came out February 16th, 2010. The game is based off the movie, Alien vs. Predator. For more information like this on the games and reviews, check out this site (IGN reviews). I believe a game like this should be rated A probably, for adult rating, it is so gory.

Using this article to explain, in the game, you can play as the Alien, the Predator, or the Human Marine. The human article is like any other campaign in a game, fighting to protect yourself. But the Predator and Alien story lines, another argument. Take example the Predator story line, you fight the humans and the Aliens. You can "take 'Trophies' from victims by ripping off their heads." When commanding your character to rip off the humans head, you see they're look of terror in their eyes and then, you just pop it off, with gore and blood coming out. When it happens to, you also take their spine along with their head, for a VERY graphic image. This definitely was one of the most violent games I've seen so far. If there is anything more gory than this, then I would be surprised. This game is violent because of these graphic images like the Predator ripping off human heads. That is known socially as disturbing, and for you to be doing these actions, makes it even more disturbing. The game was banned in Australia because of its violence. The fact that the killing in the game, is so graphic, that you can rip people's heads off along with their spine, and that it was banned in a country, show that this game should not be played!

Bloody Video Games? (Modern Warfare 2)

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, one of the most anticipated games of 2009, but also probably one of the most voilent. It was made by Infinity Ward and was rated M. The game was rated M for mainly just one reason, the violence and gore. Sure it was also rated for language, but the violence surely surpasses anything else on the rating scale. There is a huge controversy on this and even second guessed letting the game out in some countries. It is even so violent that it was talked about on the radio! The game exceeds violent expectations, and is so violent that it is controversed on the radio. If violence in a video game is important enough to bring up on the radio, then that game should be reconsidered.
In aggreement with this Article on The violence, one mission in the game, you are an undercover American secret agent fighting a Russian leader named Makarov. You go under as a Russian agent who works with Makarov.  At the beginning of the mission you start out with Makarov in an elevator and your holding a machine gun. As the door opens in the elevator, there are hundreds of civilians in front of you and police officers. You notice your in an airport and as you come out, no one notices you. Then the machine gun lifts up and your partners start shooting everyone in front of you, and you start to also.
The fact that in a video game, you are being a terrorist and shooting innocent, unarmed people is horrifying. It so violent, that when the game starts, you must "agree" to play the mission. If a game needs a warning on something in it that needs a consent to play the level, then why should that game even come out, or not changed. That sort of violence is terrible for kids, and even though it is rated M, people below 17 still have it. That is even worse because if your only 12 years old, you shouldn't be seeing mass killings in an airport like that no matter what age you are, with you being one of the terrorists. If you want to see the mission, there is a link on the bottom to see it. Caution! It is violent! Watch at your own risk. From the game being talked about on the radio because of its violence, and how in one of the missions your shooting innocent unarmed people in a terrorist attack, makes this game a game that shouldn't be "reconsidered."

M4 vs. AK47

These two guns are probably the biggest known guns in US and Middle East. The M4 was made in the US and has been in use in the military since 1997. It is effective because its is very accurate at any range, on can put a scope on it and hit targets from distances, or if your in a building with insurgents, it is also very effective. The AK47 is "one of the most encountered guns on the planet." This guns is so wildly known. The first time it was used was in 1949 by Russian Troops. It is popular because it is low  in price, for its quality.

To compare them, the Ak47 weighs 9.5 pounds with no mag. The M4 though weighs 7.5 pounds WITH a magazine and a sling. The M4's caliber is 5.56mm while the AK47 is 7.62mm. Although it is a bigger bullet, that is not always good. You can have bigger push back, making your only option for long range targets, semi-automatic. The M4's max range is around 600m, which is nearly 1,969 feet. The AK47's max range is only around 300m.

The M4 has a good agile body. The stock is retractable and extend-able. The top of the gun has a rail on it, to put scopes and sights and stuff. You can also put a grip on the front of the gun to have even better accuracy. The AK47 has a changeable sight, but besides that, It has none of the attachments that the M4 has. All of this makes me believe that the M4 is the better if you were in a gunfight. You can shoot very far range with it and still be more accurate than the AK47. It is very personal for the user (changeable stock, attachment rails). You may put grips on it, and it also weighs less than the AK47. From all this, it would be hard for me to believe that the M4 is not a better weapon than the AK47.

Halo: Reach vs. Halo 3

We all know about these top selling games. Ever since the start of Halo: Combat Evolved, It has been a hit game with over 14.8 million copies sold worldwide for just Halo 1 and Halo 2 only. Halo 3 had "more audio than 20 feature films combined." Each game that came out after Halo 2 (Halo 3, Halo ODST, and Halo Reach) were some of the most anticipated games of the year. The series is very popular. The 2 newest ones are very different though.

First off, the controls are different in both games, so if you think that before Reach came out it was a good idea to practice a lot on Halo 3, your wrong. In Halo 3 the melee button was B, the reload button was RB, swapping grenades was LB, and the armor effects were used with X. In Reach they are different. For melee its RB, reload is X, armor effects is LB, and to switch grenades, its B. Halo Reach also features movable cross hairs for guns, with each cross hair design being unique to that gun. And Reach also features different, more powerful guns, like the DMR, focus rifle, concussion rifle, etc.

Halo 3 did include stuff that people may have liked not to be changed (even though I like them better, its provides a more even gameplay). This was that there was no need to go get health packs, in Halo 3 it was just shields. And also there is no fall damage in Halo 3, but now there is in Reach, so no jumping from massively tall buildings and surviving it. Most people would say that Halo Reach is a lot better because the controls are easier, its a more rounded game to play online, and there are new abilities that one couldn't do in Halo 3.

Gory Game 10 (Medal of Honor)

Medal of Honor is a first person shooter that came out October 12, 2010. It is a rated M game and it is a game based on the war that is going on in Afganistan right now. The violence in this game is very high. As one source I want to use a video. The link to the video is here. The ending is pretty graphic so descretions is warned. The ending of the video is what I want to talk about. you are on a cliff, with a 50 caliber sniper, and the scope reaches really far. You find a bunch of Afganistans and your mission is to snipe them. The first man you snipe, your superior officer says to, "Bust him...", then 3 seconds after, you shoot, when suddenly you see the enemies head your shooting at explode! How much more graphic can you get in a video game. You are the controller and you're controlling your character to shoot at this character with a bullet the size of my hand, therefore taking his head off.
But not just that, from another source, the violence is so high in that game, and it is rated M, but there was an upcoming court case on whether or not, the rating for this game, should be compared to the same level as pornography! To be compared to that, is pretty bad. It was also to make the selling games to kids underage topic, a more serious matter in the US. The gore reaches high levels in this game, to where you choose to shoot a bullet at an Afganistan up on a cliff, and blow his head off, while watching it happen. That and the fact that the game is probably reaching the same level restrictions as pornography, makes this game , one that should not be experienced.
